About the Caregiver Support Foundation

A 501(C)(3) Public Charity

Caring for a loved one suffering from terminal brain failure is one of the hardest jobs in the world—yet caregivers often face it alone. The Caregiver Support Foundation (CSF) exists to change that. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and empowering family caregivers so they can continue to care for their loved ones while also taking care of themselves. We have no paid employees and board members are or have been family caregivers.

What We Do

  • Support Groups – We provide both in-person and online caregiver support groups, offering a safe space to connect, share, and find encouragement.

  • Education & Resources – Through our video library, helpful articles, and public talks, we equip caregivers with the knowledge they need to navigate their journey.

  • Advocacy & Awareness – We work closely with medical professionals and community partners to ensure family caregivers are seen, heard, and supported.

  • Guidance on In-Home Help – We offer assistance in finding in-home support services, such as housekeepers and maintenance aid, to help ease the burden of caregiving.

  • Public Speaking – “What is “Natural Aging?” “How are Mental Disorders Diagnosed?” “The Difference Between Palliative Care and Hospice Care.” “Six Stages of Caregiving”. Please, call for more information.

A Foundation Built by Caregivers, for Caregivers

CSF was founded by Laird Landon and the late Glen Hinshaw, both of whom were long-term caregivers for their wives. They personally understood the emotional, physical, and financial toll of caregiving. Their mission was simple: No caregiver should have to go through this alone.

Today, CSF remains a volunteer-operated nonprofit, fueled by the generosity of donations and grants. Every dollar we receive goes directly toward expanding our caregiver support programs and resources.

You Are Not Alone

Caregiving can feel isolating, but you don’t have to go through it alone. At the Caregiver Support Foundation, we understand the emotional, physical, and mental toll caregiving takes. That’s why we’ve created a compassionate community where caregivers can connect, share their experiences, and find the support they need. Whether you’re looking for a support group to talk with others who understand, seeking helpful resources to navigate your journey, or simply need reassurance that someone cares—we’re here for you.

Join one of our in-person or online support groups to find encouragement and strength from fellow caregivers, or consider making a donation to help us reach even more caregivers in need. Together, we can make sure no caregiver ever has to face this journey alone.
